Training - Communication Skills

Overview

As a team member, a lot of your success depends on your ability to deal with other human beings. How effective are you at getting commitment from other people as to what their wants are and to your ideas for meeting those needs? The ability to understand and relate to different kinds of people is one of the most useful ways of forging effective relationships. Through the years, many approaches to understanding personality types have been developed. Even psychologists and psychiatrists like Freud, Jung, and Kunkel lectured about four distinct kinds of people. Of all the models, we find the Personality Style concept by far the most practical.

Eagle Learning Center's course Communication Skills has the following objectives:

  • Being able to define what Personality Style is.
  • Recognizing the four Personality Styles.
  • Learning how to Style-Flex in order to be more effective with more people more of the time.
  • Learning to be Flexible as a team member.
  • Learning to be Flexible by recognizing the different decision making styles utilized by people of different Personality Styles and valuing the strengths of those styles, depending on the situation.
  • Using different benefit statements for different styles to increase your ability to persuade.
  • Learning how the different styles react under tension so you can react appropriately to reduce tension and work through conflict and differences of opinion.
